Miss Sophie and her
‘Kino Cabaret’
Sophie developed an early eye for details and the beauty in small things. Deeply connected to nature, she enjoys breaking out of the fast city life to explore nature. Through the influence of her parents she was often seen with a photography camera at a young age and quickly became fascinated by moving pictures and their power of expression, going every Sunday
to the local cinema.
She studied film directing at 'die medienakademie' in Berlin and received a Bachelor of Arts from the Universaty of Applied Sciens in Mittweida(Germany).
At the same time, Sophie worked as a freelancer and frequently produced promotional videos and short films. She worked in TV and took part in feature film productions such as RubbelDieKatz by Detlev W. Buck, 'Weak Heart Drop' by Alex Ross and 'The Moon Man' by Stephan Schesch. During this time Sophie could be found working in most departments of the film, gaining her much experience in all aspects of the industry.
Rich of imagination, the born Berliner is an all-rounder in video design. From the concept to the edit, working in a team or just by herself she is always testing the borders to create something which stands out of the crowd for her client, or to explore the different genres in her own playfulness.
Her main intention is to use the medium as a creative tool,
Filmmaking for Change - to protect her beloved nature, to
create awereness of the fragility of our environment.
Having followed London's calling, Miss Sophie's Procedures were focused on the production of promotional videos for music, fashion, performances and photography of magical moments from everyday life.
Her dissertation 'Märchenonkel der Filmzeit‘, about the feature films by the french film director Jean-Pierre Jeunet, was published in November 2013.
2014 she has moved back to Germany and was scripting on several fairytale films for adults and children.
Also she was involved in different film projects within the industry.
2017 Miss Sophie became the mother of the girl Lilith.
She changed her life entirely and put her creative energy into paintings and Märchentassen (SLBpottery).
2020 she did start making little film productions again like the music video for Spilwut for example. She's still scripting on several stories, is planning a short film and paints and potters in her little studio on the countryside in the north of Berlin.
